The Del Norte Precision Rifle completion is a dynamic shooting completion in which competitors engage
targets at various distances from different shooting positions under the pressure of the clock. The
competition takes place on DNGC’s Outback range. The Outback range consists of 12+ firing positions and 50+ steel targets. The targets range from a full-sized bear and coyote to standard steel to Prairie Dog Poppers to challenging Spinning plate racks.

The competition consists of engaging 2-4 MOA targets from distances of 200 to over 900 yards under a set time. Each stage is 8-12 rounds and is typically shot in 120 seconds. The Competitors will engage targets from both improvised positions on obstacles and from prone often having to move 5 to 10 yards
between firing positions while on the clock.
Props used for these improvised positions range from barricade walls to cars, and even a rooftop.

Additionally, the shooter will be challenged in the prone position by acquiring and engaging targets with fields of fire of over 90 degrees and long shots while prone. The game is played over 6-7 stages and generally consists of 60 to 70 rounds of ammunition.

Equipment requirements are any scoped rifle 30 caliber and under with a speed limit of 3200 feet per second. The scope should be able to dial or hold over for bullet drop. Nice to have equipment is a bipod and rear bag. Most of our shooters are more than willing to loan rear bags and any other specialty gear you might need. Shooters should know their rifle data out to 1200 yards.
